We’re so excited to gear up for another year with our 1826 Senior Spokesmodels!!! 😍🎉
Being a spokesmodel for 1826 Photographic means you have the opportunity to represent the face of 1826 Seniors. Spokesmodels receive countless perks including a complimentary styled shoot with professional hair and makeup, a full Varsity Senior Session, tons of digital images to share online with friends, opportunities to participate in mini sessions, cash bonuses, group activities, and MORE! We’re diving into all things spokesmodels on the blog today, so let’s jump right in!
Every year, we run applications for our spokesmodel program in February and make our selections for our team in March. Spokesmodels are chosen based on their involvement in their community, their outgoing personalities, and their dedication to the 1826 Photographic brand and not on appearance or the high school they attend. Once the team has been chosen, we like to host a Meet & Greet with our new spokesmodels for them to get to know not only us but also their fellow group members! We go over the responsibilities of being spokesmodels as well as the incentives that they receive by promoting us. We usually have pizza, music, swag bags, and a photo booth!
In June, we have our big Styled Shoot with our spokesmodels! Our models receive complimentary hair and makeup either at a salon or at our studio! We always have such a great time in the morning getting all glammed up for the day and we LOVE the stylists that we work with! They make our team look and feel beautiful all while still keeping the looks very similar to the senior’s style.
After spending the morning getting glam, we head out to the location of our styled shoot! Each year we pick a theme for the first half of the shoot, and then we always like to end with the classic white t-shirt and denim look with mylar balloons that represent their graduation year. We’ve done photos with vintage cars, we had a boho theme, a bright and colorful theme, a groovy hippie theme, and this past year we did an elegant mirrorball theme! We always photograph the group in both outfits, as well as photograph each senior individually in a variety of poses so that they can share photos of themselves with their friends and also show off what a great time they have with their team!
Styled shoots aren’t the only time that we get our spokesmodels in front of our lenses! Each spokesmodel does a full Varsity Senior Session with us, but they also have the opportunity to model for a variety of different shoots that come our way! Whether that be modeling products for a local business, testing out our new sets in the studio, or even being a part of promotional videos for us – spokesmodels are our go-to’s when we need a smiling face!
We looooooove to spoil our spokesmodels! Our seniors work hard promoting 1826 and we like to let them know how much we appreciate them by going on little outings and giving gifts! Sometimes we will do surprise gift card giveaways and cash bonus incentives when our team brings us a lot of other senior clients. We try to go out on a breakfast or dinner date with each team and we always like to give our team a little something around the holidays. With the way the world has been over the past few years, we have not been able to do some of the activities that we would like to do with our spokesmodels (movie dates, bowling parties, etc), but we do hope that we can do that more with the next coming year’s spokesmodels!
At the end of our time with our spokesmodels, we like to finish out their year with a Cap & Gown session! This is to celebrate our spokesmodels for all the hard work that they put into our program and their senior year. We photograph our team in their school’s caps and gowns and we also will photograph them in their collegiate gear if they have chosen to further their education. This session is always so bittersweet!!! It’s sad to say goodbye to our team, but we’re so excited to see what their future brings them.
We have had the BEST TIME creating this program for local seniors. We have loved absolutely every team that we’ve had and we wouldn’t trade our spokesmodels for the world! But don’t just take our word for it!! Hear what past spokesmodels have had to say about being an 1826 Senior Spokesmodel:
“When beginning my journey with 1826 Photographic, I at first was very unsure about applying. Thankfully with the support and a push from my family and friends, I ended up having the chance to make new friends and a new family. I’m glad I had been pushed out of my comfort zone because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have met all of these wonderful people! Thank you Jamie and Lindsey for giving me the opportunity to have fun and build my confidence! I encourage everyone to take the time to check out the rest of their work and to also apply to chances like this!” – Emily Capizzi, PHS 2021
“Being a spokesmodel for 1826 was such an amazing experience! I was scared to join something like this with people who I may have not known at first, but my decision to join was definitely a good one! So many great people made up our group along with our wonderful photographers of course! I had a great time not only taking my photos but I also got to meet such awesome people along the way! Getting together was always a great time and we all are still good friends:) My photos turned out so great and it was such a fun time getting them done! All of the open minds made it so easy and made it even more fun overall. I would encourage everyone to join this group and go through the experiences that we did!” – Madison Shutt, NHS 2022
“My experience as an 1826 photographic senior spokesmodel has been so much more than I expected it to be. I went into it only knowing one other person and was put with a group of people who I didn’t know very well, but we were able to laugh with each other and bond as if we had known each other for longer. We all got along very well and loved doing things together as a group. It is very flexible and an amazing experience, especially for your last year of high school so you can have lots of pictures to keep as memories. Jamie and Lindsey are the funniest and most kind people you will ever meet and being around them is a blast.” – Kassidy Brown, HHS 2020
“Being a part of this team has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am forever grateful for this opportunity to make new friends and connect with people that I had never met before! I loved working with 1826 because being a part of this team offered so much support and felt like a family! Everyone was always so happy and excited to contribute and support each other during photo shoots and supporting each other online! Every time any senior posted or shared an 1826 photo all of us would repost, comment, and share it further for others to see! There was never a time when I felt judged or left out. Everyone was always so inclusive and caring for each other! I would highly recommend being a part of this amazing team! Jamie and Lindsey were the most amazing people to work with and I am forever grateful for what they did for me and the team as a whole!❤️” – Ali Garbe, MHS 2023
We can’t WAIT to see what we do with this next year of 1826 Senior Spokesmodels and we look forward to meeting another awesome group of seniors!
