How To Prepare For Your 1826 In-Studio Headshots

Our In-Studio Headshot package is probably the easiest of our corporate shoots to prepare for! You will arrive at our studio for a 20-minutes session which includes 1-2 backdrop choices and the outfit you came in.

Backdrops:

We start out every shoot on a white backdrop. This allows for flexibility if your photos are being passed on to your marketing or graphic department. The white background gives them the opportunity to cut you out and add you to another backdrop or to seamlessly add your photo onto a business card without making you look boxed in. You then have the option of a second backdrop choice. Sometimes that means a different color of paper or one of our simple sets with a chair placed in front. Think simple, straightforward, and clean. The main focus is you and that’s what we’re here to highlight.

Outfit:

While you are only allowed one outfit, that doesn’t mean there is no variety. When choosing your outfit, think in layers. Some of the photos can be taken with a jacket on, or off. The same goes for a tie, hat, glasses, etc. You also want to be mindful of choosing a color or style that best suits the business you are representing. If you typically wear a suit to work, you might want to think twice about wearing jeans for your shoot, but if your company’s style is casual go for the Levi’s! It’s always a great idea to check with your company to see if there are any stipulations for your headshot, such as color choice or style. If not, dress in a way you feel most comfortable and in tones that best complement your look. Keep your style simple, and true to you, and don’t stress over the small things… like a pimple popping up the morning of your shoot. That’s what photoshop is for! 😉
